1. Scope

CaseRace, Inc. (“CaseRace,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you use caserace.io and our related educational services (collectively, the “Service”).

2. Information We Collect

We may collect:

  • Account information, such as your name, email address, username, password, and, if you provide it, school or organizational affiliation.
  • User Materials, prompts, case-study content, questions, answers, annotations, and other materials you create or submit.
  • Learning and performance data, such as cases accessed, choices, responses, explanations, completion, progress, and usage patterns.
  • Communications you send to us, including support inquiries.
  • Payment and transaction information, if you purchase paid services, generally processed by our payment processor.
  • Technical and usage information, such as IP address, device and browser information, operating system, referring URLs, session data, cookie identifiers, pages or features used, and crash or diagnostic logs.

Please do not submit patient-identifying information, protected health information, or other sensitive personal information through the Service. The Service is not designed to receive or process that information.

3. How We Use Information

We may use personal information to:

  • provide, secure, maintain, and personalize the Service;
  • create and administer accounts and process transactions;
  • generate and deliver case-study materials and feedback;
  • analyze use, learning patterns, and performance to produce insights, improve the Service, develop new features, and conduct research and development;
  • respond to support requests and communicate with you;
  • detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service; and
  • comply with law and protect the rights, safety, and property of CaseRace, users, and others.

We may create and use de-identified or aggregated information for these and other lawful business purposes. De-identified or aggregated information does not identify you personally.

4. AI and User Materials

The Service uses generative AI to create and support educational case-study materials. We may process prompts, User Materials, and related inputs through our systems and trusted AI service providers to operate the Service.

AI-generated outputs can be inaccurate or incomplete and should not be used for patient care or as medical advice.

As described in the Terms of Service, users retain ownership of User Materials but grant CaseRace a broad, perpetual license to use, modify, develop, commercialize, and otherwise exploit them. We may use User Materials to improve and develop our products and services, including through analysis and AI-related development, subject to applicable law and our agreements with service providers.

5. Student Performance and Institutional Disclosure

We may use information about your performance and progress to provide the Service and generate analytics and insights.

We will not disclose identifiable information about your individual performance or progress to your institution, instructors, or educational program without your express permission.

This does not prevent us from sharing de-identified or aggregated insights that do not identify you; sharing information with vendors that process it on our behalf; or making disclosures required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or security.

6. How We Share Information

We may share personal information:

  • with service providers that provide hosting, cloud infrastructure, analytics, customer support, payment processing, security, and AI functionality for us;
  • with professional advisors, insurers, auditors, and affiliates;
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or other corporate transaction;
  • when we believe disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or property; and
  • with your express direction or permission.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not disclose identifiable student performance or progress to an institution or instructor without your express permission, except as described in Section 5.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies to authenticate users, remember preferences, maintain security, understand use, and improve the Service.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling them may affect the Service.

8. Retention and Security

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Transfers

CaseRace is based in the United States. We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

10. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent; or to appeal a decision regarding a privacy request.

To exercise a right related to your data, contact us at info@caserace.io. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information in violation of applicable law, contact us at info@caserace.io.
